Safeguarding – Riddlesden St Mary’s Primary School

Fencing safeguarding works, soft play area, footpaths, new access road and associated access control works

Safer School Spaces

Client: Church of England Diocese

Our successful tender was to complete two main areas of work within the Bradford-based school’s existing boundaries. Initially, we installed over 800m of 2.400m high boundary fencing with pre-finished steel mesh fencing panels and posts, incorporating single and double swing gates.

The entrance was re-configured with vehicle and pedestrian gates with an automated controlled access system linked to the school office via intercom to current safeguarding regulations. A new tarmacadam access road was constructed to the rear of the school with an overflow car park.

We also formed new soft play areas for infants, and further hard play area facilities adjoining the classrooms which we linked to the inside with new ramps and balustrading. The perimeters were maintained with a low-level timber fencing scheme. New aluminium doors were installed and connected to the new intercom system. This contract was completed in 8 weeks, utilising the 2-week Easter shutdown for sensitive areas to minimise disruption to the staff and pupils.

Value: £230k | Duration: 6 weeks
