Designing And Constructing A New Roofing System To Live Marshalling Area

An existing building at the Leeds site was constructed approximately 45 years earlier and in need of improvement works.
Working with the clients’ insurers we designed a suitable flameless roofing system. The system was preferred by the client, as it didn’t require the use of gas torches.
We provided a detailed design to strip, remove and provide a guaranteed fireproof insulated roof system. This involved approximately 4,000m2 of insulated roofing work, detailing, gutters, kerbs and rooflights to gain maximum natural daylight. To enable safe ongoing maintenance, we also installed a permanent handrail to the correct building regulations.
This Unilever contract was successfully completed with uninterrupted site production, on time and within budget, providing a 3 times more efficient system and a 20-year performance guarantee to current legislation.
